[samples] I’ve been as strict as I can editing the pictures but I know there are still a lot – this is such a beautiful collection that there is nothing I can miss out. However, I’ve broken the new arrivals into three posts, starting (of course) with the colour offerings.
The new collection features prints from the fashion arm of the brand as usual and I’ll start with the centrepiece that is a new take on the cat feature that Paul & Joe is so well known for. I’ve put it in the design, Amuse-toi Bien (Have Fun) but you can buy the cases separately to put the lipstick in any pattern you want or to top up an existing one you might have. The shade is Globe Trotting (001) and despite it looking such a bright yellow, it’s actually a colour change shade that will give you a pink lip tint once it warms on your lips. I know it will be such a popular one, so the link is HERE so don’t wait if you’re keen to get one. It’s £11 (cases are £7) and the non-affiliate is HERE.
These are all the new cases and if I was to split the collections correctly, they belong with the new lipstick collection. There are 17 new shades, split into Clear (glossy), Natural (pigmented glossy) and Full Coverage which is self explanatory. The shades I have to show you are a selection of the new ones but they’re still very much in keeping with the pinks and corals that exist already.
Going along the line, starting at the beginning: 309 Poppy (full coverage), 216 Short Spring Story (natural), 219 Chrysantheme (natural), 311 Rose Pot Pourri (full coverage) and 104 Groseille (clear).
The swatch is exactly the same order as the line-up. What you’ll notice, if you haven’t used these before, is that they’re very moistureful with no sign of matte. They’re great for giving a dewy or juicy lip look at any intensity. They’re £14 each and you buy the cases separately.
So, now the Face & Eye Colour Palettes. Oh my! I haven’t swatched yet – can’t quite bring myself to do so. The top version with the kitten print is called Gallivanting, the middle is Voyageuse Du Monde and the last is Amuse-toi Bien. The idea is ‘holiday’ and each palette gives three shades. I say three because that’s what’s on my press release but I am counting four! Unless the white shade is just decoration and doesn’t actually do anything other than make very nice palm trees. It’s easy to see how you can get either a graduated, smoky look or just some impactful mono shades – they’re quite adventurous, colour wise, so I will swatch them properly at a later date (just have to gear up to ruining the picture… argh) so you have a better idea of palette to eye looks. They’re £25 each.
I know these lipsticks are always super popular with cat lovers as well as beauty lovers, so I’m just flagging the extra detail on 055 (pink) and 059 (flowery). 059 is a re-release. The brand has fully captured the joy of spring combining both Japanese and French aesthetics so perfectly. I challenge you not to smile at your lipstick every time you use it. The full collection is HERE at Beauty Bay (it’s more towards the end of the Paul & Joe category so keep scrolling down), non affiliate HERE.
