[productsample/affiliate] I’m working my through the Pat McGrath products slowly but surely. As someone for whom there is no day that isn’t a lip gloss day, I was really keen to see Pat’s.

Pat McGrath Lip Gloss

The two I have here are Dare To Bare, a pastel peach shot through with gold, and Aliengelic, a clear base with iridescent pink and gold – an absolute shimmer shower by the way. I’ve worn Dare To Bare almost daily since it’s been in my hands.

I think the way to judge a gloss is by last and colours, and they certainly do last better than most. There’s a bit of a vanilla back draft in the smell and taste which I could do without, but when it comes to Dare To Bare, I absolutely love this colour. It’s not so pigmented that it’s a full saturation so it brings a bit of zing to either a bare lip or to other colours because it sits so well on top. I’ve used it with Givenchy Stereo Brown which is a matte stain and the two together are more or less perfection.

Crucially, you don’t get left with a load of sparkle sticking to your lips when the gloss has dissipated. That’s one of my pet hates about shimmery gloss or balm and it hasn’t happened yet with these. I’ve worn Aliengelic less I must admit because it’s SO shimmer shot. I think it’s one for balmy holiday nights when your tone is warm and you don’t feel like putting any other make up on at all but just need a tiny glamour shot for the effort’s sake – in general though, they’re all tone suitable to my mind. They’re in stock HERE for £25 each. Non affiliate HERE.
