[purchase/affiliate] I just could not let at £22 Pat McGrath eye palette pass me by – a fellow blogger (Sharon at Backtoyoubeauty) tagged me in her post about the same palette, I shot over to the site and purchased straight away. It seems to be that this (and one other) limited edition palette is a kind of Pat Basics range – it’s very simply packaged in a lightweight but sturdy plastic palette with no exterior box.
This feels like such a great idea to dispense with the frills and just get right down to the goodies as well as making it more affordable. As you can see, it arrived in a sequin package (could well do without all that plastic tbh) so there was still some glamour on opening.
A small leaflet with ingredients and so on comes in the main packaging.
So, the goods! I couldn’t be more happy with this set of five molten shades. Consistently, Pat McGrath’s formulas are such that they look almost liquid on the skin. In swatching, only one swipe of colour is needed to lay down a rich layer. They’re just delicious and live up to every word of the hype.

You can see that the fourth colour along (Corruption) looks different in each picture – it’s a shade shifter and does its job really well. I’d be happy to have make up of this quality in more basic form for ever – I love beautiful packaging but if being without it makes the actual product more affordable (and for £22 including postage this feels like an absolute bargain) and accessible then it’s a no-brainer.
I’ve barely worn eye make up at all during lock down and this is the first thing to get my make up juices flowing again – I’m so pleased with it if only to gaze at for now. Find it HERE, non affiliate HERE, and I’d suggest you be quick about it – I can’t see them being there for long.
