NYX This Is Milky Gloss

[unpaid/sample] Anyone who remembers the glory days of Stila properly ‘milky’ glosses will be delighted with the new offerings from NYX. ‘Milky’ is easiest described as the ice cream vs sorbet. Most glosses have colour sharpness to them but a milky element makes the colour softer and more blurred with a creamy undertone.

I absolutely love the look when it’s on the lips although I’m heading towards the peachy shade – Moo-dy Peach (see what they did ;-)) as my perfect colour and I think a bit of a dupe for the original Kitten shade. Any of the shades give your lips a kind of Bardot playfulness and yes, it is a bit sexy. That sort of gauzy effect film is just delicious.

In the line up left to right: Milk The Coco, Moo-dy Peach, Lilac Splash and Pink Shake. They’re very, very smooth feeling on the lips and didn’t disappear in a flash – the hold is better than average. The one thing that I find strange is that there is a bit of a soapy after-taste – soon gone after a sip of Diet Coke – but I can’t believe it wasn’t possible to eliminate that element.

Quick snaps from my kitchen (just back from yoga!) going from top left round the clock. Lilac Splash, Milk The Coco, Moo-dy Peach and Pink Shake. There’s something just a little bit sixties about them which I really like – smoke up the eyes a tiny bit and you’re there. The milk element, I am sure, doesn’t come from the vegan milk included in the formula. The glosses are limited edition – there are 8 shades including a light blue which is the only one left on the NYX site so I’d say from that it’s been a successful launch!  Otherwise, there seems to be plenty of stock at Superdrug HERE where they are £9 each.

Thanks Jane, think I’ll try these out, always on the hunt for a stay put gloss! Xx

Like any gloss, it won’t last nearly as long as a lipstick but I’d put this on the longer-lasting side rather than a straight slide off 🙂

I missed the first milky gloss go-round, so perhaps I will give these ones a try. With luck they are not sticky…
