Marc Jacobs New Eye-Conic Palettes

Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Palettes

I’m sorry but I am going to gush a bit over the new Eye-Conic palettes from Marc Jacobs Beauty. The quality of these is exceptional from packaging through to product performance – even small things like the mirror quality being better than average to the fact they’re sleek and tuck away nicely thanks to rounded ends and flatness justify the £39 spend. The textures are buttery soft, richly pigmented and deliver true shades so what you see in the pan is what you get on your eyes.

They’re inspired by layering trends in fashion and that really does shine through – mattes, shimmering satin, sparkling silk and metallic lame. There is a shade in Provocouture called As Well that reminded me, before I’d even read any of the blurb, of a chocolate shade lurex sweater I had – I Oxfam’d it long since but immediately wished I had it back! Looking down the colours of each palette it’s like looking at a row of perfectly arranged and edited autumn silks on a shop floor. I am happy with these! If you get the one that most matches your autumn/winter clothing aesthetic, you probably won’t need another palette til next year. Right, I said I was going to gush but I’m not sorry – I feel I’ve kissed a lot of frogs lately so these are my prince! I’m linking to John Lewis which seems to have everything in stock.

Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Palettes: Smartorial

Shades from top to bottom in the Smartorial Palette: Whenever, In Doubt, Power Platforms, Make Sure, (For Once), They Know Who, Runs The Show. I think it’s so obvious in the swatches the quality and smoothness of the formulas. It’s HERE.

Shades from bottom to top in Edgitorial: Take A Memo, Next Season, We’ll See, Pleather Python, Making A Scene, Enviously, Everywhere. This is the only palette where the matte shades (Take A Memo and We’ll See) didn’t come out perfect first time. Once you brush with a soft brush (I swatch with a sponge applicator) that uneven line disappears. Edgitorial is HERE.

Shades in the Provocouture palette from bottom to top are: Say It, With Style, Otherwise, You Might, As Well, Just Stay, In Bed. Clever that – read it back if you didn’t get it the first time :-). It’s HERE.

As mentioned at the top of the post, I still have Scandalust, Frivoluxe and Glambition to swatch up but I’m taking Max for a very quick overnight trip to Paris tomorrow and Friday so there will be no posts (Thursday) tomorrow and only possibly a couple on Friday if I can get to them.

  1. At first I thought Edgitorial was my favourite, but in the swatches the Provocouture palette really shines! Not sure about that hot pink (I haven’t touched the hot pinks in my ABH Modern Renaissance palette either), but You Might and Just Stay are beautiful! Also those shade names are everything…

  2. The Provacateur palette is stunning! I would love to pick one up. http://www.mrsqbeauty.com

These look such high quality, I haven’t tried anything by Marc Jacobs yet, but these are tempting me! Would you mind telling me where these are made? I am quite particular at avoiding things made in some countries for various reasons so I always check before I buy. I don’t have a counter nearby so would have to order online – thanks in advance if that is possible.

The palette packaging states that the product is made in the USA. 🙂
