There’s something very 80’s about the MAC Work It Out collection launching in the UK on XXX. Add a towelling headband, a green leotard and some big loopy hoop ear-rings. However, it is tapping into the very current athleisure beauty trend – products you can wear for your work-out. Bear in mind that really, it’s not actually work out suitable – it’s just kind of for the vibe of the trend combined with a bit of Green Goddess. It’s a huge 73 piece strong collection that’s full of brights. I headed straight for the yellow In Extreme Dimension Lash (there are 16 shades, many of them, er, unexpected!) which is amazing! In terms of wearability, you need to bring your A-game to carry it off, but I’ve tried it (I’ll try it on my Facebook Live channel later this week.. the operative word is ‘live’ so you can see for yourself!) and although I’d never leave the house in it, I completely love it for being so zany.
I’m also pretty keen on the packaging although mainly, it’s paper wrap arounds – it’s just fun and bright. You can expect to find colours ranging from blue through bright pink to lime green! In the top picture, you can also see Crystal Glaze Gloss in Love Your Body – it’s a very sheer peachy shade.
Strangely, in such a bright collection, the lipstick I have is pale as pale can be. It’s called Bi-ceptual in nude-beige lustre. If I’m going to recommend anything from this collection, it would be the Chromographic Pencils – I have a green shade here (Landscape Green), but there’s an orange, purple, yellow and blue. Orange liner close into coated black lashes looks absolutely amazing. A tip for coloured mascara, while I think about it, is just to tip the top of your (already black mascara’d) lashes – people tend to really look at your eyes without quite knowing why they’re doing so.
Right, so in the swatch, it’s the Landscape Green Chromographic Pencil, In Extreme Dimension Mascara in Cool Down and Energized, followed by Bi-ceptual Lipstick and Crystal Glaze in Love Your Body. It’s like FAME all over again… You can find the collection HERE – head straight for the bonkers mascaras and the pencils.
