It’s all things festival for the MAC Vibe Tribe collection launching in May. It’s a big collection with main accents of coral, sand and hot orange. I posted this on Instagram yesterday and it’s getting more attention than any recent celebrity collaborations so something about the heat and the neon tones is really resonating – Ibiza meets Coachella meets the Wild West.
Above is Call of The Canyon palette (£33) and Lipsticks in Painted Sunset and Arrowhead.
Painted Sunset (£17) is in the Amplified formula and as you can see is a streak of searing orange with red tones. Next to that is Arrowhead (£17), a matte, bare nude, and beside that is the bronzer swatch from Matte Bronze, a mid-toned golden bronze. Nude is a big feature of the MAC Vibe Tribe lipstick collection with other shades including Pure Vanity (lustred peach nude) and Tanarama (pale beige with gold shimmer).
I love this palette! Shades from bottom to top are: Call Of The Canyon (veluxe pearl), Fools Gold (olive toned gold), Summer Sun (peach frost) and Thunderbolt (charcoal with gold pearl lustre). I’d easily wear all of the colours in this one. The turquoise on the packaging is reflected in the second palette called Wild Horses.
The MAC Vibe Tribe collection hits all MAC locations and on-line in May but some of the shades are on-line exclusives only (none shown here).

I love the eye palette! Ahh just when I thought MAC were a bit bland, they bring out this gorgeous set! Roll on summer to wear the colours with my bright wardrobe 🙂
I love new Mac collections! 🙂

I’m obsessed with this packaging! Defiantly on my summer wish-list.

The packaging is lovely but it leaves me feeling really diasppointed in Mac. Especially now I’ve seen the promo pics. Maybe its not cultural appropriation but its at the very least insensitive and tone deaf. If this collection is inspired by music festivals maybe we should think about what elements we associate with music festivals and why. I think the Huffington Post summed it up nicely. The article is easily found if you search for the collection- along with many other articles in the same vein. My apologies Jane, to leave an unpopular comment. I know many of us see beauty and your blog as a safe/fun place outside our everyday lives but if we commend people like Charlotte Tilbury (and in the past Mac too) for positive action than I think companies can take criticism when they’ve not got it right.
I hope you don’t mind x
I don’t mind at all Yasmine – you’re free to make your points on this site and agree completely that balance is a good thing. x
As ever, thanks Jane 🙂 x
Yasmine M I totally agree. It’s Urban Outfitters appropriated Navajo style and very tone deaf.
Exactly and Mac could’ve held their hands up to it when they wrote the press release after being called out on it. A missed opportunity, in part because this could have potentially have been a collaboration project and one that was pioneering. Mac does a lot of the time get it right when it comes to corporate responsibility, but this time they missed the mark.
Ah, that eye palette looks so lovely! I’ve yet to buy anything from the MAC collections (they sell out so fast!) but this might be one to look out for. xx
