MAC Trend Forecast Palettes Spring 2017
MAC Trend Forecast Palettes Spring 2017

Every year, MAC predicts forthcoming trends and encapsulates them within two palettes – one eye and one lip. I can’t help noticing that these aren’t so different from the last prediction palettes in colour terms, but maybe that just IS actually the forecast. So, it’s clear that MAC sees spring differently to everyone else (let’s face it, spring is when the pink and pastels come out, traditionally) and I’m glad of these bold shades to off-set the daisies. I also like a lip palette – it’s handy for changing your mind.

In the swatch, bottom to top: Look Out Spring, Pink You Said, Mood Changer, Bright On Trend, Utterly Crisp and Steal The Scene. I like the colour variety – it’s not all based on one colour theme, so if you like to change it up, these are ideal.

The eye palette is a creme formula – they’re not too sheeny so go onto lid as almost flat in colour and there doesn’t seem to be an excess of oil either so you should be okay even if you have oily lids. I don’t really get this for spring to be honest – the first three maybe but I’m not that convinced by the darker shades! But then, I’m not a trend predictor, so what do I know!

The swatches, as you can see, are power packed and these are all one stoke of my little swatch brush. In the swatch, shades from bottom to top are: Ro Ro Rosy, Chic Pea, Off-Beat, Spruced Up, A Plum Find and Best Bet Blue.

If you think these are spring 2017 for you, they’ve already launched HERE. For some reason I can’t get the MAC site to give a price so I’m hoping they’re not all sold out already – the Forecast Palettes have a habit of selling out very fast indeed.
