[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] It’s great to start the week with something bright and fun – namely, the MAC Lunar Luck Collection to celebrate the Lunar New Year. The star piece in my view is the Extra Dimension Skinfinish which reminded me straight away of how Chanel used to do things when it came to embellished palettes. It’s the year of the tiger which is an image you can have a lot of fun with and the MAC designers certainly have with their fierce red and pink tiger but they’ve also added the extra detail of lucky coins, blossoms and bamboo.

Even if Lunar New Year isn’t symbolic for you, it’s still a very impactful design and on balance, I’d rather have a brush with a tiger on it than not 🙂

On the inside, the pressing is as lovely as the outside design. It’s in the shade Lunar Lights which is a pale gold – actually quite a handy tone for bringing light to the lids (blush doesn’t have the same glide factor as eyeshadow so you’ll only be applying a wash which is all bare lids need to suddenly spring to life) and for a very gentle touch of light catchy highlight for cheeks – literally whisper your brush over it before applying to cheekbones.

I’ve been sent the Powder Kiss formula lipstick in Push Your Luck, a gentle peach shade, and the Powder Kiss Liquid Lip Colour in Token of Affection which is way too deep for me but wow, if you can, it’s impactful in an intense red with a touch of brick in the background.

Token of Affection is £21, HERE, Push Your Luck is £21, HERE and Lunar Lights is £26, HERE. Non-affiliate HERE. I should point out that MAC still has a 50% off page running and some of the items aren’t dissimilar to the new products – it’s worth a look HERE if packaging isn’t your thing but colour is.
