So, along comes another collection with Caitlyn Jenner. When I featured Caitlyn’s first MAC collection, BBB readers objected not on the grounds that she is transgender, but on the grounds of her politics – so I’m going forth with trepidation, here! I guess the point is that MAC does, and always has, pushed boundaries and in this instance, pushed all our political buttons as well. On the one hand, that shouldn’t really be any part of beauty products which are there purely for pleasure, but on the other, it is reflective of the wider world. It’s also the case that Caitlyn is 67, and we have precious few opportunities to celebrate the beauty of older women.

The products I have here from the collection are: Cremesheen Glass in Kindness (£18), Lipstick in Authentic Red (£16.50) and the Powder Blush Duo in Buddy (£19.50). There are also two other Cremesheens and some very beautiful deep toned eye shadows plus a gold colour. It feels like an autumnal collection rather than a going-into-spring collection and it also feels a little old fashioned – I think the brand has focused on their own perception of what older women should be wearing rather than what they’d like to wear. The one thing I do really like is the Cremesheen Kindness – it’s a golden wash that’s pretty at any age.
Swatches above from bottom to top are: Authentic Red Lipstick, Cremesheen Glass in Kindness and both tones in the Duo Blush, Buddy. Anyway, the MAC Caitlyn Jenner collection is HERE.

Nothing really excites me about this collection I’m afraid. The packaging is a little dated and there isn’t really a shade or formula I don’t already have.
Wow, that collection looks exactly like the colors my friend’s grandmother wore in the 70’s! I feel like I need to get out my plastic hair rollers with those prickly spikes!
I think its hilarious that it is being pitched as a collection for older women. She wouldn’t be categorised as older if she had stuck to being a man, no one would be bothered with a man’s age.
That was my take… it wasn’t pitched as such.
It does indeed look dated and there’s nothing this 76-year old would buy — on the other hand at least someone realises that women don’t stop with the skincare and makeup just because they aren’t 35 any longer! 🙂
What’s your most recent beauty purchase Ann? You don’t have to tell me but I’m curious to know 🙂
The lovely serums made by Deciem, a range called The Ordinary. Amazing serums at amazing prices. I think Deciem is determined to show up the beauty industry who charge extortionately for readily available products. I love skincare and makeup, always have, and it’s such a pleasure to read BBB!
Ah yes.. people have very much raved about those. And thank you Ann!
And I forgot to mention that I’m now on my second pot of M&S Formula Absolute Deep Sleep — no, 8 hours Sleep — cream. It seems so gorgeously luxurious. Gave some to my daughter and she agrees. Thank you for that tip some weeks ago otherwise I’d never have found/seen it.
you’re welcome.. it’s a lovely cream x
To me this looks like a normal MAC release, but I’m surprised you were sent so few samples. You can’t see much of the collection from your post- but that bronzer/blush looks similar to the Selena one, and I’m always on the lookout for the oddball MAC shadow.
Sorry MAC, you’ve jumped the shark with this one
MAC Mary Berry or MAC Betty White would be fine, but Caitlyn Jenner sure isn’t my idea of a fabulous older gal.
Back in the reality based community, another enthusiastic vote here for The Ordinary products
