If what you like in a lipstick texture is a silky consistency that’s only just holding together as a solid, the L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Shine lipsticks are it. They’re so melty and buttery that they feel balmy and yet, they’ve got the full pigment power of a lipstick. I love the crystal look casings that have the practical advantage of letting you see the colour inside so you’re not shuffling through your collection taking lids off all the time. They do give a lot of shine without being quite so wet looking as gloss and at £8.99 each they feel like a far more expensive, premium product. They’re on offer at Boots (HERE) on a 3 for 2 so you can split with friends or treat yourself to two and get a third free.
Speaking of thirds, there are two ‘holographic’ lip toppers – they’re not, of course, holographic in the very sense of the word, more of a super-sheen with a slight shade shift element. The shade below is GirlsNight with a silver/pink shift.
My picture isn’t picking the shift up (it’s very grey and snowing outside and this definitely needs some light pointed at it) but it gives other colours a vampy depth. You can see in the swatch that they’re not quite full saturation – on the darker tone of my lip they do look full but if you cared to apply lightly with a lip brush you could have a wash of colour instead of full on. The orange/red shade is BeautyGuru and the pink shade is Color Hype.
