Kat Von D Lash Liner Inner Liquid Eyeliner

Kat Von D Lash Liner Inner Liquid Eyeliner

The new Kat Von D Lash Liner is formulated for the inner rims of your eyes. I guess you would say it’s a pre-made version of the Laura Mercier Tightline Cake Liner as its fully liquid with a soft ended stick that picks up the liner.

When I was being shown this I was advised to dot the liquid onto my inner rim rather than swipe the stick across. I didn’t listen and got an eye full of black liquid that took a little while to clear as well as stinging a bit because I’d put far too much on (and in). So, please do, if you decide to buy it, listen to the instructions and gently dot along the rim.

I’d also say that if you have sensitive eyes, this gel/liquid liner isn’t for you – although it does give the most intense black line you’ll ever have. In terms of last, it didn’t do too badly but I think inner rim product performance, kohls or whatever, depends on how ‘wet’ your eyes naturally are. I use my Clarins kohl every day but I do have to re-apply it often more than once a day. An inner rim liner that lasts all day is the stuff of holy grail – it doesn’t exist – but these days I don’t care if it all goes a bit Chrissy Hind and smudged.  It definitely has more last than a standard kohl because (thanks to clay) the product sets on the line – but like any inner rim product, it will need a bit of attention as time goes on.

It’s already launched in the US but we have a few weeks to wait til it comes here.

I know the Kat Von D brand is owned by LVMH so it’s going to be around, but her public anti-vax stance is dangerous. And she needs no support/press. I hope you will consider not reviewing her products in the future.

I completely considered it – and agree with your view regarding anti-vax. I had an entire conversation with her rep saying it was very difficult to support or promote the brand, but my thinking here is that a long-stay, clay based inner rim liner is something we have never seen before (at least, I haven’t) and as an editorial decision on a site that talks a lot about innovation and new products, I thought it was worth mentioning for that reason alone – if anything it’s a shout out for the product development team. I don’t support her anti-vax stance but also think, let’s just wait and see when she has the baby in her arms if her views are different… grand statements are all very well until reality hits. xx

Thank you for your thoughtful comment. Exactly what I would have expected, which is why I enjoy your blog so much.

  2. This is interesting and I could be tempted to give it a go. But for inner liners, nothing beats the Guerlain kohl powders for longevity! And I’m with you on the Chrissy Hind look!

Marc jacobs gel liners stay put on the inner rim, I use the thin version but have used the pencils too. No need to reapply so so good!

They already have them in Debenhams. Mine arrived yesterday but haven’t tried yet. Brilliant, considered reply about anti-vax. X

I’d love to know what you think when you’ve tried it. x

I tried this on my inner eye rims, and it made my eyes burn and itch. I really don’t have sensitive skin and I’m not at all prone to getting allergies, so I would be surprised if there weren’t quite a few other people who react the same to this product.
