Japan Beauty Part 2

Japan Beauty

I don’t know how many of you remember when I got hold of the original version of this (Adam from Make Up Revolution managed to nab me some on his travels). It’s a soft, whippy cleansing foam that comes out of the nozzle in the shape of a rose. It’s hours of entertainment. Well, Nic (@nicintokyo) managed to source me the Strawberry Rose version when I met up with her in Japan.

Japan Beauty

This version is every bit as wonderful (and entertaining) with the added bonus of smelling like strawberry milkshake with a dash of rose syrup. Yum. In case you think it’s all about the entertainment, the cleanser formula contains royal jelly extract, water-soluble collagen, hyaluronic acid, fermented rice extract, and rose water. You can find it or the original version for about £20 on Ebay HERE.

Another cleanser that Nic brought that she (rightly) thought I’d love is the Ettusais Amino Hot Cleanser. It’s part lotion, part gel, with a bit of tackiness in the formula and it warms on your skin as you massage it round. While I know this is a gimmick, it keeps you massaging for longer which is a great benefit, and my skin felt super-clean and smooth when I’d rinsed it away. It’s available on Yes Style HERE for £31 but I think you’re paying a premium for it.

These are great finds! I am kicking myself for only buying the smaller versions of the Of Cosmetics Rose Shampoo and Conditioner because they smell so beautiful. This fragrance is pretty much how every shampoo should smell – it’s a mix of damask rose, geranium, lavender, clove, and sage and the result is a herbal rose scent that’s so clean but lightly sweet at the same time. I cannot find anywhere that this is available to the UK (even more annoying that I can’t stock up!) but I remember that the mini sizes were about £7 each. The La Casta Hair Emulsion is like a serum, but better – my hair loves it – I’m at a disadvantage because I can’t find it on line at all but it feels like a serum/oil. From looking about, it’s an expensive hair line.

Japan Beauty

Addiction is a very popular premium range in Japan. I guess if I could liken it to anything we have it would be a mix of Kevin Aucoin and NARS. I bought this gorgeous liquid blush in Revenge (swatches at the end) which is a cherry shade (with yellow base) and a kohl/liner in Secret Night which is the blackest liner I’ve ever owned and has a silver back light (I can barely see it to be honest). It was about £14. The blush was about £20. I’m thrilled with both these I must admit.

Japan Beauty

My final thing! How could I leave it on the shelf?! I’m sure you’ll have heard of Etude House – they had a store in Harajuku with lots of different cases that you pick out whichever shade you want for. The colour I got isn’t in English so I can’t say what it’s called but it’s a vibrant pink. This brand is available in (or to, at least) the USA and you can see all the cases ($5) and lipsticks HERE. There is a lot of Etude House on Yes Style HERE but I haven’t found the cases.

First swatch is the Etude House lipstick and the second is the Addiction blush – ignore the third! I’ve got a final post on stationery and food coming up hopefully end of the week.

      Well that’s one handy sister!

  2. Christina

Love everything you picked up! I’ll have to check out the shampoo and conditioner the next time I go to Japan, which is not often. LOL!

What a coincidence that you likened Addiction to Nars since Ayako (the brand creator) worked alongside Nars back then.

    1. Jane

      Ah that does make sense..

  3. Evie

I have a foundation and eyeliner from Addiction, and both are very good. The price of Addiction makeup is quite reasonable.

Thanks for alerting us to House of Rose hair products. I’m going to Takashimaya today to get the shampoo and conditioner.

      thank you!

  6. I would love to try them on as I absolutely love Asian products. They work wonders on my skin, well that is when I do not end up with a fake. Need to look into alternative purchasing options, but sadly unless you can find them in Sephora (preferably in France) one has slim chances to get their hands on them as in the UK I least I do not know many who are selling Asian Beauty products in store.
