Huda Textured Eye Palette

Huda Textured Eye Palette

I can’t remember being this excited about a palette for a long time – so much so that I actually couldn’t even wait to photograph it before trying it on my eyes and I’m usually very disciplined about that! So, it’s not in immaculate condition for pictures but that tells you all you need to know about how I feel about it!

There is a multi-textured aspect to this – you need to know this ahead of time because if you dig in to one formula expecting it to be the same as the others, you can end up being too rough with it. Lovely as it is though (and it’s limited edition) I’m quite shocked to find that Cult will only allow one per customer! It’s £56 for 18 pans and the textures within it are very different. The top row is a mix of 3D metal foil type shades and chrome pressed pearls, while the rest are matte shades. The 3D metals are very soft – creamy almost – and the mattes are very smooth: if you dip in with your fingertips, they don’t feel as dry as the finish would suggest. I have to admit that my swatches aren’t the best – nothing about this palette likes the little sponge applicators that I swatch with and bearing in mind that I’ve used all three textures on my lids using brushes and loved them, I would also direct you to Huda’s site HERE where they are swatched better.

So, this is the top row and the one I love best to be honest. Colours are: Dubai, Fling, 24K, Rose Gold, Trust Fund, Angelic and Blessed (Angelic has a pink/gold shift).

These shades are Bossy, Flamingo (those are my rose pruning scratches, not marks in the powder), Shy, Bae and Moondust (shimmer).

Shades for the bottom row are: Black Truffle, Suede, Coco, Maneater, Henna and Sandalwood.

The colours I have reached for most are Sandalwood (with a Coco crease), Dubai, Fling and Blessed but there isn’t a colour in this that I’m not prepared to try. At the price, it IS very expensive – but I also don’t know another palette like it. Maneater by the way is showing more red than it is in this picture – it’s more of an oxblood shade.  All I can say is that I’m thrilled to have it and currently using it every day. You can find it HERE if there is still stock.

I think your palette would be good competition and a fifth of the price!

      thank you Sarah!

  2. Seems like a nice palette but I already have the Modern Renaissance so I feel like I don’t need this one!
