[unpaid/affiliate] So here we are again with the notoriously expensive Hermes beauty brand. Hermes Nail Enamel is £45 per pot.
Just to give you a little behind the scenes view – I wanted to do a video of the polish dripping for Instagram’s Texture Tuesday – LOOK how long I had to hold that camera! It’s funny because I did notice a texture difference between the Jaune Imperial and Rouge H.
This shade is thicker in texture I think although thinner in pigment – although a lighter shade is always going to take more coats to perfection than a darker one unless there is something very wrong. It’s not my colour at all – Jaune Imperial is more towards mustard than sunshine and I think only the deepest tones would find this truly flattering.
I’ve got no complaints whatsoever about Rouge H – it’s lusciously vampy, devilishly deep and slides onto the nail like a dream. It has a very light hint of brown to it but I think if I told you I was wearing Rouge Noir you wouldn’t question me. They’re definitely sisters in pigment terms.
I haven’t got the nail wheel out for this – after nearly 7 minutes holding my phone completely still (only you will know my pain because I’ll edit it down to about 15 seconds) waiting for the drip made me not want to have anything further to do with them but the shades above are absolutely accurate – that is what you will see on your nail. John Lewis has them HERE. I’d say that you could easily pass on these – the quality is very good but isn’t better than other luxury brands, so then you’re down to colour. Rouge H is utterly lovely but nothing else particularly caught my eye.
