[productsample] It’s just my luck to have the gloomiest of weather days to do a sneaky peek of Guerlain’s summer Terracotta palette! This is rather different for Guerlain – I don’t think I’ve seen a similar combination from them before and honestly, it looks good. The mix is two bronzing powders, one deep and one lighter, a peachy shimmer blush and a highlighter – all in one place.
Bronzer always looks much darker in the saturated containment of a palette – I was surprised that the deeper shade is not actually that dark once its on a brush and while I do need my tone to warm up somewhat before this doesn’t look out of place, it’s really wearable for me. The lighter bronzer is more where I’m at right now – it’s warm and gentle and actually looks perfectly good as a blush or just a tone lift. If you’ve got an angled brush, that might be useful for the blush and highlight combo.
You can see in the swatch that it’s all about tone warming – that familiar bronze, peach and highlight combination suits most skin variants although if your tone is very deep, I don’t think this will bring much to you. I’d love to see a version for deeper skin shades. All in all though, I’m having a bit of Guerlain moment – there are a lot of luxury brands that don’t feel very relevant to me right now, even though they’ve been favourites in the past. Guerlain steers a steady ship through all sorts of social media nonsense and only look all the more dignified and elegant for it.
I don’t have any further details right now, but nice to get a glimpse of summer, right?!
