[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] New shades for Givenchy Le Rouge – nine of them! If you’re a fan of matte lipstick, these are extremely matte – cloaked in red velvet wrapping on the silver stud casing (Ricardo Tisci brought the studs in during his 12 years as creative director) – and yet feel utterly lightweight on the lips.

Givenchy Le Rouge Deep Velvet

I have never in my life made a lipstick, matte or otherwise, last 12 hours but that’s the claim here but I would not mind in the least topping these up. The new shades are delicious – impactful and flattering – to the point that I’m very much up for using a bit of balm over the top to counteract the matte just for the sake of wearing the colours. If you like a neutral shade, I’d point you in the direction of Nude Cendre (see swatches below) which is a sublimely greyed nude and my first choice.

They’re £29 each but I’ve found them at Escentual for £24.65 HERE (with an extra 12% off everything til Monday with code ESCENTUAL12 which brings them to £21.69 at which point we are talking a proper bargain), if you feel tempted. I’ll run though what I have here.

Givenchy Le Rouge Deep Velvet

Wow.. I am just re-looking at how matte they are! In terms of fragrancing, it’s quite light to my nose with a bit of a sweet, floral theme. Okay, so from bottom to top, it’s L’Interdit, Nude Rose, Grenat Fume, Rose Graine, Nude Cendre and Frambois Velours. Non-affiliate link HERE.
