[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] If you’ve never tried the famous Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick, now’s the time to dive in while the limited edition coral tint is available.

The tint is very sheer and how well it shows over your natural lip colour will depend upon your tone (you can build it to a certain point) but it has all the feel of a lipstick while being full of moisturisers to protect your lips from the sun. Actually, it’s less balmy than a lot of ‘balm’ lipsticks – it has more of a creamy feel but doesn’t leave lips feeling heavily coated.

The SPF element is adequate at 15 for incidental sun but probably not for the full on bake (also a good petticoat layer for non-SPF lipsticks or glosses). I used to say, about products like this, that they’re ideal for chucking in your handbag and using as and when needed throughout the day but I haven’t picked up a handbag in 3 months so it’s more likely to end up in the dog walking bag! Funnily enough, it smells a bit sunscreen-y but doesn’t have any of the weight or cast. The design is by Italian illustrator and designer Olimpia Zagnoli who is bringing the joy with her vibrant circles and faces.

Here’s how it swatches up on my arm – you can see it’s lightly tinted with a slight sheen to the finish (great for anyone who doesn’t like a high shine but matte seems too severe a walk in the sunshine). I love it – I’ll use it up to the last drop, I’m sure and at £20 it feels – and looks – like a properly summery beauty treat. You can find it HERE, non affiliate HERE.
