Crownbrush has gone all out on these whopping palettes – 35 colours in each one! I’ve swatched the middle row of each one rather than the full monty because I don’t have arms long enough for this; it’s a swatching challenge! And, my camera is being temperemental so I’ve moved to iPhone for these. First up is the 35 Colour Neutral/Nude Palette – actually my least favourite because the pay-off isn’t amazing. The first thing to do with these palettes is ditch the sponge applicators because they’ll carve up the colours; they’re so hard and poor quality that I don’t think they should even be there.
So this is the middle row – the palette is mainly mattes with only a couple of sparkles. The deeper shades are good on pigment, while the lighter ones I had to really work to get any colour at all. It’s £19.99 HERE.
The Metal Madness Palette is a whole other story though – really strong pigment, beautiful sheen; one or two shades a bit too soft (see the end of the row where a dab with a sponge applicator really dug in) but on the whole, this is easily my favourite and again, 35 colours. It’s the most expensive of the 35 pans at £22.99 HERE.
You can see that the shades really give off excellent gleam.

The final palette I have is the Smoke It Out – a mix of mattes and shimmers in every colour you could want! Again, the mattes didn’t give enough pigment but the shimmers are exceptional.
So, there’s everything in this one from neutrals to bolds, but brighter shades are predominant – if you love a green/blue eye, you have a lot of choice here. The Smoke It Out palette is £21.99 (but just seen it’s reduced to £15.99) HERE.
So, while the quality is a little variable, on the whole, for the price and the amount of make up you actually get, I still think the Crownbrush Eye Palettes are great value.
