Clinique High Impact Lash Elevating Mascara

Another new launch for Clinique, this time on the 18th August – a lifting mascara. This will be music to the ears of anyone who curls their lashes and still finds they droop throughout the day. I’ve been using this for a few days now and I do find that the lift is good (you still need to start at the base of the lashes and wiggle the brush side to side as you pull through which is a standard lift technique anyway) but please bear in mind that my lashes aren’t particularly straight in the first place.

I tested it side by side with another mascara (Maybelline) not noted for lifting and Clinique definitely had the edge on it by a long way. I haven’t noticed any droop throughout the day either. What I do find though is that it is plenty pigmented and you need to do a thorough removal not to leave residue on your pillow overnight. I like that it is a deep, deep black and gives separation with no clumping and that it has a new-to-Clinique ingredient called Mamey Oil – a central American fruit extract that works as a lash conditioner thanks to high levels of vitamin B6 and C. The brush is a good eye-fit and without knowing quite how it will react if you have very straight lashes, I think it’s a good every-day ‘eye opener’.

Clinique High Impact Lash Elevating Mascara will cost £18.
