[samples/affiliate] Bearing in mind that the mood for Clarins spring make up is freshness and glow, the pared back line-up for spring fits right into that.
The milky theme continues with Milky Boost base at the heart of it (see previous post HERE). There is a line-up of six shades of Milky Mousse Lips – a fluffy kind of a texture doused with translucent colour. On the lips it feels whippy and smooth – perhaps too smooth actually because I couldn’t make it last terribly long once on. It’s a near-matte finish and yet because of the texture you actually feel that you’re wearing shine.
I don’t think the ball shaped sponge applicator is helpful. I think I see what they tried to do – create a carefree, dabby application of low key colour not dependent upon particular precision. This is all very well if you’re swishing your hair on Rue de Cambon while alighting a moped, but back in the real world where precision matters, your colleagues might be awkwardly putting their fingers to their mouths in a silent SOS gesture of alert to something that urgently needs remedying. I actually found it easier to squeeze onto my finger and then swipe it around my lips – it worked well using that method.
I love the peachy blush – there is also a pink shade – for being just a whisper of enlivening apricot on the cheeks. This is the kind of barely there look that works so well over tinted moisturiser to give the illusion that you have not hibernated all winter and have seen some kind of fresh air.
The lip mousse shades are Milky Pink and Milky Nude, £19 each and the blush with a colourful zigzag case is £27 HERE. Non affiliate HERE.
