[productsample] I absolutely love Ciate’s lastest offering, the Marbled Metals.

Ciate Marbled Metals

In essence, they’re highly metallic, reflective eye shadows that literally shine on the lids. You can see in the picture that it looks as though there are chunky glitter shards in the formula but in fact, once blended, everything merges into one smooth finish, although it’s a very twinkly one.

There are five shades (the front one, Twisted, looks black in the picture but is in fact a dark green) and yes, you do see drop from the brush. Although the brand recommends applying with your fingertips, if you want any precision at all, that’s just not an option.

I got around the problem very easily by wetting my brush (think damp, not dripping) and there was no drop whatsover. Not only was there no drop but the formula glided over my skin perfectly.

After using a wet brush, they stop being so powdery so you get an idea of the finish on lids which you don’t at the start when you first open them. You’ll see in the swatch below just how crazy-metallic the colours are but bear in mind that I’ve loaded up so that the colours look as accurate as possible – you would probably use slightly less on lids.

And it’s not even a sunny day. They’re almost liquid looking – really clever formula that completely delivers for wet-look lids. £22 very well spent I think – my favourite shade is the green, but from bottom to top: Gilded, Entwine, Wicked, Twisted and Phoenix. You can find them HERE.
