Charlotte Tilbury Shanghai Nights

Charlotte Tilbury Shanghai Nights

I first saw this lipstick (and blogged it) back in the summer at that curious thing called Christmas in July. I’ve been having a big sort out and organizing spree (hence no blog yesterday) and came across it again, along with American Sweetheart. I’m get the feeling the less is more vibe is spreading and people aren’t necessarily craving the whole huge lipstick wardrobe thing but rather a careful selection that will be loved and used.

Charlotte Tilbury American Sweetheart

These two limited edition lipsticks, in the KISSING formula, are the perfect night-day partners – one’s a dramatic, vampy rouge shade with plenty of pigment and a semi matte finish, while the other is the perfect day time, warm, peachy nude in the same finish. The wrapping, representing the city the lipsticks were inspired by, is really detailed – I know it’s only a box but they’re gorgeous and well worth a moment’s attention. The only thing I’d do differently is put these lipsticks in metallic cases in the same colour tone as the box – how fab would American Sweetheart look in a metallic midnight shade, and Shanghai Nights in a metallic red/pink.

OR, put them in little satin bags with the same patterns as the boxes. I want to see that panda over and over again! I expect either option would be prohibitively expensive OR we’d be looking at £50 lipsticks.

If less looks like this, I like it! You can find both limited edition lipsticks – and a third, English Beauty – HERE. They’re £24 each.

Sigh, beautiful packaging. I usually don’t keep the boxes, but when they’re that well done, how could I not! And I echo your sentiments about the panda. I want more of it!

This is the first swatch I’ve seen of these & they look better on the skin than in packaging actually. Very beautiful & actually makes me sad I don’t wear makeup anymore.
