[productsamplesfromChanel/affiliatelink] It’s not hard to guess my verdict on the new Chanel Rouge Coco Flash. I’m completely in love with them as I absolutely knew I would be. My preference for lip cover is sheer and sheeny and these fit that brief to the letter.
Colour and shine are the chief features of the 27 strong line-up. Some have a dot of shimmer, others are deeper in tone and the rest are sheer, juicy washes that feel just lovely on the lips. They’re as you’d expect in feel – buttery, lightweight and sleek – containing mimosa, jojoba and sunflower to provide moisture.
There are three top coats (I don’t have them here) that you can use to layer over any lipsticks as shine enhancers (gold shimmer, Light Up), tone heaters (orange, Warm Up) or colour depth (dark hue, Deepness). So, here we go with the swatches:
From bottom to top: Phenomene, Amour, Furtive, Live, Ultime, Instinct and Emotion.
Pulse, Rush, Beat, Jour, Boy, Boheme.
Ferveur and Chicness. My favourites are Boy because it’s not so nude that it washes out my lips but just looks creamy and warm, Chicness for the same reason but a slightly deeper tone, Emotion because it looks as polished as the only item of make up you’re wearing or as part of a bigger look, and Pulse because it’s the kind of red that anyone can wear.
Although I generally advise that you see colour in person at counter before dropping a cool £31 a pop on lipsticks, these are more flexible than most for buying directly on-line (HERE non affiliate HERE). Sheer shades are more adaptable because they’re far less saturated and while I wouldn’t go as far as to say that they are suit-all across the board, there are very few shades in the line-up that I wouldn’t have a go at myself. They’re super-pricy, I know, but feel like the treats they should. Love them.
