[productsample/affiliatelink] Well, if anyone needs a Friday Treat, here we are. This is hands down the best matte lip product I’ve ever used and there are 12 new shades launching today. I hate traditional mattes and yet here I am sitting happily and comfortably with Ink Fusion on my lips because it just doesn’t feel like matte, or indeed anything at all because it is so light.
I think that partly it’s such a comfort wear because of the formulation flexibility. It’s moving with your lips, not fighting against them. If you’re thinking of a traditional watery ink colour, that’s not this – oils and polymers make it soft and glidey, more like a gel than anything in application.
There’s no ‘setting’ as such, but once the liquid has dried – and it dries to a pigmented veil – it says put as a waterproof and smudgeproof finish. I wouldn’t suggest you try and cross the Channel in one although that would be an excellent spectator test, but wearing the brightest red, I see no signs of fade two hours in and I can’t usually hold a lipstick longer than five minutes. Strangely, the formula in the brighter, more pigmented colours feels less emollient on the surface than the lighter shades which retained their gel feel for much longer.
You do need to be careful and precise on application – it’s quite liquid and going forward, I might think to apply with a brush rather than the doe’s foot applicator if I’m using a bright shade.
So, the finer details are that they’re £31 each (insert scream emoji) and contain vitamin E and Sappon wood for antioxidant protection and hydration. At the same time, CHANEL is releasing 6 metallic and 6 matte shades of the original Rouge Allure Ink.
Shades from bottom to top are: Deep Pink, Beige Naturel, Rose Rouge (all Fusions), Signature and Legerete (both Inks). Of course there is a Fusion in Rouge Noir which undoubtedly will be the best seller! Head HERE.
