[unpaid/samples/affiliate/ad] Occasionally, on a Friday, I rush through my posts a bit because I’ve just had enough of beauty (yes, it happens!) but not today. Everything is lovely today so I feel more energised than usual for an end of the week day (plus we are having Turkish mezze tonight and pink wine) so it feels like a good segue into the weekend to start with the newly launched CHANEL 40th Anniversary blushes.

Also, I know I’d never have the patience (or skill) to be a professional photographer – look at the bits! I polished out fingerprints and seemed to replace them with … bits. To mark the limited status of the three blushes the casing has a burgundy interlocking C which, if you have a drawer full of black cases is quite helpful.

Much as I’m not a fan of a powder blush, these are somehow especially silky and light-weight on the skin. From left to right the shades are: Rose Initial, Rouge Profond and Malice. I’m always attracted to red blush and can make it work as long as my tone is warm but need to use the smallest amount – it’s really best on deep tones where it can bring a beautiful flush of colour. These aren’t new shades as far as I’m aware – just the packaging is different.

A little shout out for the brushes – some of the few miniature size that are actually useful and do the job.

I hadn’t realised the blush (baked) is 40 until I got the press release – with nearly 140 colours developed over that time. Imagine what those would look like all in a line …

So, bottom to top: Rouge Profond, Rose Initial and Malice. They have literally launched today and are £36 (although somewhat unreasonably are £39 at Boots) HERE Non-affiliate HERE.
