In my mind, this is much older than 6 years – but I’ve checked and double checked that it is indeed from 2014. CHANEL Beauty has been exceptional at referencing its fashion history roots and as you might guess, this pays tribute to the intricate laces used for couture pieces. In 2018, the Museum for Lace And Fashion (who knew?) put together a travelling exhibition, Haute Dentelle, featuring mechanical lace within pieces from designer houses such as Alberta Ferretti, Balenciaga, Chanel and Dior. It sounds great – I hope it travels to the UK at some point but you can find details HERE. The website is well worth a look if you’re interested in fashion – and in particular, lace, and although it’s a French site, there is an English option.

CHANEL Dentelle Precieuse Illuminating Palette

This design is so perfectly rendered that it could easily be mistaken for a piece of fabric lace – I can’t imagine running even a feather stroke of a brush over it!

As an illuminator, the shade is mix of copperish beige and rose – so a really lovely, neutral tone that could be worn on all skin shades to get a flash of light to cheek bones. In 2014 it was £46 but I’ve seen it on USA eBay for $109.

I’ve had a few new things coming through (via courier delivery) so maybe towards the end of next week I’ll start to introduce a few of them if the time feels right (and you are ready).
