Starting with the Joues Contraste (blush) in Elegance. As you can see it’s a honey’d peach shade – it’s got more pigment than I was expecting but too much shimmer for my taste. Alongside it sits the quad in Code Elegants. It’s SO gold toned – very strange for spring, but beauty brands are starting to ignore seasonal rules (see my 2017 trend report which I’ll be posting Friday) and this collection is at the head of a trend in more ways than one. I think I’ll have to see how I feel about gold lids in April before finally calling it!
The stand-out piece from the Chanel Coco Code collection is the blush palette in a quad of four shades to be used together or individually. The colours are more pigmented than I was expecting but it’s all in there from the lightest sheen, to golden shimmer and bronze and finally a pink red flush.
Nail shades, along the wheel starting left to right are: Beige, White, Black Metamorphosis Top Coat, Red (with topcoat) and Red (without topcoat). I keep looking at Beige and not quite being able to like it. Any day that red though, with it’s vibrant orange tones.
Finally, Rouge Allure in Independante, and Rouge Coco Shine in Noir Moderne. There is also Gold Dore in Rouge Coco Shine, La Secrete and Libre in the Rouge Allure Velvet and Ardente in the Rouge Allure formula, but I don’t have those shades yet. So, Chanel Coco Code is a mid-January launch: the product that I think will sell out and fast is the blush quad because there is so much interest in it already. I will try to flag on launch day.
