Catrice In The UK

[productsample] So, at last, we have access to Essence’s sister brand, Catrice. There are certain categories in budget beauty that perform equally to more expensive counterparts, and some that don’t quite make the same grade. I’m still half way through trialling the items I’ve been sent but so far, so very good.

I will admit to finding this similar to one of those secret puzzle boxes before I found the way to open it – the included brush and tweezers sit in a little side drawer and the indents that help you open it are underneath so I was a little while shaking it and trying to work it out!

The powders are fine and nicely pigmented working well with the tiny brush – if you’re a brow powder person, I don’t think you’ll have any complaints with this at all other than perhaps the formula doesn’t contain wax like some powders do to give it extra staying power. The tweezers do actually work and so does the brush although if you struggle with motor skills you’ll find them too small and fiddly to use with ease. At £3.95, it’s a great chuck-in-your-bag touch up kit.

I absolutely love the Glam & Doll mascara. It’s got the perfect brush for me and at £3.95 is a bit of a steal. It coated every lash, gave separation and made my lashes look super long. My caveat is that it’s not waterproof so don’t shed even one tear or rub your eyes because it will leave you!

I’m super impressed with the Brow Comb – remember when other brands brought out this style of brow brush tip and they cost a fortune? This one, that performs exactly the same, is £3.48. Oh, I should say that before you think that these prices mean everything is made in China, not so – 95% of Catrice is made in Europe.

I’m in my comfort zone with the lip products – the Volumizing Lip Boost in Wonder-Full is exactly my kind of peachy pink and although there is a slight hint that it might happen in terms of a hint of mint/menthol, I didn’t really see any meaningful volumizing – and nor with the Lip Balm – but frankly, who cares. These are two great lip products (£3.49 and £4.49 respectively) that give a juicy wash of colour.

Yes! Finally! They have some great foundations, lip products and concelears. I used to madly look for them when on vacation in Europe but so glad that they finally are here. Oh, and their setting sprays is a must!

      I did too – now I don’t have to!

We’ve had them here in Ireland all along, mysteriously. Always some stupendous gems in among the huge range, which really is great for dupes. Enjoy this, GB shoppers!
