I keep on forgetting that By Terry does these gorgeous lip sheers – if I think of any By Terry lip product, I immediately think of the rose balm. Expensive as it is, it has legions of fans who won’t use anything else. As part of the Spring Happy Glow collection, there’s a new shade – By Terry Baume de Rose Nutri-Couleur Mauve Moon – which just shouldn’t work, but does! It’s a brave person that puts a slick of lilac on their lips but I totally get this shade as part of the wider, spring brights picture.
There’s a slight iridescence to Mauve Moon and it’s also sheer and glossy so you aren’t getting this violet at an intense colour – it’s more of a wash, and in that way, it really works for a spring lip.
In terms of scent, it’s light and rosy and has the usual By Terry Baume ingredients of rose wax, flower oils, shea butter and ceramides. There is another new shade, Coral Stellar, a pinky-coral shade, that I don’t have here, but it is ‘safer’ in colour terms!
This is obviously swatched more intensely than you’d wear on the lip but I kind of love it! I definitely baulk at spending £35 on a lip colour, but By Terry Rose Balms sell and sell so there’s clearly an addictive quality to them. By Terry Baume de Rose Nutri-Couleur Mauve Moon is £35.50 HERE.
