Blink Brow Bar x Future Dreams

[unpaid/sample] I’ve had to pay a bit more attention to my brows in the last week or so – I had a hack at my own fringe (which usually isn’t difficult at all) and somehow went horribly wrong! I had to nip into a hairdresser with Honey for an emergency repair (while she sat on my knee) – luckily, the salon I passed and begged to take pity a) had ten minutes spare before their first appointment and b) like dogs. But, nonetheless, it is shorter than usual which means my brows are more on show. It’s not something I even think about usually, and I couldn’t care less about having the perfect arch, but it’s apparent that they look better (and strangely, more natural) a tone or two darker than my hair colour as it is at the moment.

It’s sheer serendipity that the Blink Bar x Future Dreams arrived this week. I usually use a smidge of Benefit Powder if I use anything at all, but this is very much an upgrade on that. 50% of all proceeds go to breast cancer charity, Future Dreams. On the inside of the outer packaging, there are instructions and a stencil if you want a guide for a precision brow, but personally, I am more or less only using the first brown shade to infill with the edge brush that’s included, but the palette is particularly intended for those with sparse or thin brows for whatever reason.

While I don’t believe in prescriptive ways of doing brows (I am sure if aliens landed, one of their major questions would be why does everyone’s eyebrows look exactly the same) they always look better after a comb through so I’m pleased to see a spoolie brush included too. The three shades should cover all eventualities – they have plenty of pigment so it’s the usual story of going gently at first and adding more if needed. If your brows aren’t one uniform colour, you can precision in-fill with the contrasting shades or use either powder to add definition and depth. Actually, definition is the most important thing – the difference it makes to your whole face when your brows are just a shade or two deeper is amazing because suddenly your eyes look properly framed and distinct. Anyway, it’s £25 HERE.
