Benefit Gold Rush Blush

Benefit Gold Rush Blush

The cowgirl theme is one that Benefit frequently revisits .. this time it’s laced black stiletto boots and a flick of gold on the spurs. Unusually, it’s scented – not unpleasant at all and in the way that most powder that’s pefumed, it has an air of sun cream although the notes are apparently citrus, vanilla and sandalwood. It’s not overwhelming, more of a nuance than a blast.

As you can see, it’s got a gold over-spray for the initial opening bling, but actually once you’re past that it’s a peachy shade hit with light gold shimmer. I can’t help noticing that it’s very low down in the box and when I check the weight, it’s 5g – Hula, for example, is 8g. Benefit does vary the amount of product that goes into their signature square boxes without varying the size of the box.

I think this is pretty wearable – the packing has all the punch but that means a really decent every day shade for the blush, particularly when we get some sunshine. It’s £24.50 which seems on the top heavy side to me but if it takes you through the summer, it’s probably money well spent. You can find it HERE (free postage).

I definitely love Benefit blushes and Gold Rush is no exception to the rule I must say ! I still use Bella Bamba ( 2012 so far I remember ), and I am a huge fan of Dandelion and the other ones ( I also have Throb which was discontinued a long time ago ). The formula and textures are really awesome if not the best ones ever . Never without my Benefit blushes ( and my Chanel JC ones ), Gold Rush is very nice and the scent is lovely in my opinion . I purchased the palette too, as a gift to a young woman I think she will soon become a Benefit Addict 🙂 😉 I wish they would repromote Bella Bamba, such a gorgeous watermelon pink ! Unique !

I wouldn’t think it’s unusual for Benefit to have scent in their boxed powders (given how many of them had – Georgia, Dallas, Thrrrob (sadly discontinued!), Coralista, etc).

However I think it’s very cheeky of them to reduce amount of product – their boxes now are a lot more flat than they were. The OCD in me would very much like the previous size – I collect all of them, it’s a sentimental thing.

Gosh your memory is good! I really don’t remember them being scented at all…

I’m happy that I’m not alone in the world! I check also the weight of products. The reason i stopped buying MAC’s Lightful Softening lotion was that they reduced the amount of product about 35% with the same price and the excuse of new packaging.
