Anna Sui Mermaid Lagoon

[productsample] We can always expect something magical from Anna Sui Cosmetics and this summer’s offering more than lives up to past collections.

Anna Sui Mermaid Lagoon

Mermaid Lagoon is all about shimmer and texture. The five Shimmering Eye Colours are a water based texture so immediately cooling on the lids. The finish, once dried, is powdery but alive with sheen and multi-dimensional colour. There’s a bit of colour shift thanks to iridescent particles.

From bottom to top: Dancing Corals Iridescent Pink, Hidden Deep In The Sea Iridescent Purple, With Shiny Pearls Iridescent Pearl, Shimmering Water Iridescent Blue. Sparkling At The Bottom Of The Water iridescent sand. The only one that’s not successful is the Shiny Pearls – it didn’t come out as evenly as the others although it’s better with a brush rather than the applicator. It’s pretty on a bare lid as just a nuance of something sparkly. You need to really shake them up well before applying so that the colour distribution is even. The best (in my view) are Dancing Corals and Shimmering Water – electric on the skin and when the sun hits, unbelievably light catchy and vibrant.

The new face colours won’t leave you in any doubt as to the theme. The lighter mermaid is highlighter, while the pink mermaid is blush.

The highlight comes from silver, green and blue pearl pigments – great for cool tones and paler skins that can’t take the popular gold or bronze tones.

Again, the blush is good for cooler tones – the undertones in this are silver, green and blue. On my warm tone it looked absolutely fine though so I think its a universal blush – just as well because it’s so cute! You buy the palette and blush/highlight separately – colours are £18, case is £8 and the Shimmering Eye Colours are £16. Personally, the top product is the pink blush although as I’ve been writing I like the idea of Dancing Coral on a bare lid as well more as a light wash rather than full colour: add to finger tip and dab on the lid.

It’s not long til launch date either – 1st April for this collection.
