So, we have a very beautiful offering from Anna Sui this year – not traditionally festive but certainly very special. I need to split the products into a couple of posts because there are several items. Anna Sui has a recurring theme of peacocks so no prizes for guessing that this Coffret Set is inspired by that very thing. The coffret is the makeup box and a lip treatment – I’d like to have seen a bit more in it to be honest – it’s rather a large makeup box for one slender lip treatment, no matter how beautiful! But, really, it’s a treasure with its velvet lid and gold detailing.
I’m completely smitten with the Lip Rouge Pens – not glosses but liquid lipsticks you can apply with the pen applicator. They give a semi-matte finish which I like: it’s not the full dry matte effect and they feel moisturising (in as much as a semi-matte can on the lip). It’s definitely not sticky. There are 12 shades in the Lip Rouge line-up and I have four colours to show you to give you an idea.
One little detail you may not notice straight away (you can see on the second lip pen in) is a little window that shows you the colour. It’s like a stained glass effect, I guess and even I didn’t notice it straight away! The pens have ornate gold lids.
At this early stage (it’s a sneaky peek), the colours aren’t named but they usually are by the time they hit ASOS and other retailers so for now, from bottom to top: 400, 300, 601 and 700. Prices for this brand are always at the upper end of the scale – the lip pens are £25 and the coffret is £28 (I’m going to double check that one) because the Lip Treatment Pen on its own is £20. I don’t have a launch date yet for the Anna Sui Holiday 2016 collection (I’m using the term ‘holiday’ because it’s an international brand so just sticking with programme!) but will update as soon as I can.
