[productsample/affiliate] Anna Sui Christmas is full of the joys – it’s bright, colourful and whimsical. The collection made me smile when I opened the products because it’s just a bit bonkers: sweets, butterflies and unicorns!

Anna Sui Beauty Christmas 2019

It’s quite a small collection which is good – brands are definitely paring down their offerings and putting better attention to a few things rather than scattering it across many. The Butterfly houses a translucent orange-red lip balm while the Unicorn, below, houses a shimmery pink that’s almost completely transparent.

The balms themselves are the usual formula – a blend of rosa canina fruit oil, peach kernel oil and macadamia seed oil so they’re nice and emollient as well as looking pretty.

There’s also a selection of tins – I must admit I wasn’t expecting them to be empty but I think the purpose is that they fit an eye shadow or lipstick (or both) and it’s an alternative way of wrapping a small gift. It’s obviously a way to reduce wastage because the tin goes on to be used long-term as well as being part of the present. I can see these as a blessing to rubbish wrappers! They’re £5 each.

There are six variants, all with a distinct Anna Sui style. They’re £5 each.

The bigger items are two vanity case style coffret sets – the other one which I don’t have here is black with butterflies – containing a make-up palette. It might be better, instead of a plastic insert, to use paper nesting in future.

Once the make-up palette is out, it’s the perfect place to keep your Quality Street stash!

It’s either going to be disappointing or a complete relief that the swirly, candy-like patterns are an insert over the top of the pans!

Inside the palette, you’ll find baby pink blush, two eye shadows with a pearl finish in a lilac shade and a very pale pink shade – and of course their accompanying brushes. The creative thinking behind this is to conjour the same excitement that you feel when you pick out a chocolate or candy from a box and it kind of works in that respect. This is the most expensive item from the collection at £30. You can find everything HERE at Amazon where all the items (at the time of writing) are in stock.
