[unpaid/sample] Oh my – the absolute excess of this is something of a thrill. I love colour in a world of neutral beauty packaging and this has it over and over, from the beautiful turquoise bottle, the gold embossing and the sumptuous bottle shape.
I didn’t really know what to expect, as I’ve not smelled the previous version, Dylan Blue (for men), but the warm fruitiness of it was a surprise. Top notes are orange, lemon and pink pepper but not in their usual sharp citrus format because they’re well wrapped in musky notes. I can pick out the layer of jasmine but where the guava is is anyone’s guess. Maybe it’s part of the warmth.
I’ve tried to find out where the name comes from but to no avail although there is definitely a Mediterranean theme running through which explains the turquoise at least (the ad campaign was shot in Sardinia and I’ve never wanted to be transported anywhere more right now!).
It’s as far from a pared back, gender neutral fragrance as you could get but I love its impactfulness and general sass in ignoring trends and just doing it their way. I didn’t find it to be particularly long lasting although the initial impact gives a lot of notes at once so the spritz is rewarding for the nose. It settles to warmth with fruity wrapping and I’d describe it over all as a happy scent. It’s £48 for the smallest bottle HERE.
