[productsample/affiliate] Since I rediscovered Tocca (which means ‘touch’ in Italian) with their Florence fragrance, I’m so keen to see anything new from this brand. Florence had an undercurrent of Iris, but Maya features this note as a key component.

Tocca Maya Eau de Parfum

Maya, on the surface, is all about juicy blackcurrant, but if you hang on, the dry down reveals wild iris and violet leaf. It’s sweet, so if that’s not your thing, it won’t be for you, but there is something very joyful about it. Maya is almost a classic fruity-floral, with notes of rose and jasmine to wrap the fruit, but I find it changes – one moment it’s floral, the next it’s fruity, sometimes there is the iris and sometimes not – and it has none of the vanilla-ish hallmarks of a high street fragrance.

Tocca Maya Eau de Parfum

Patchouli and oakmoss sit at the base but they’re light and don’t dominate. Mostly, this is for you if you like bold fruity fragrances that stay around without overwhelming you (or anyone else). It’s strange (and lovely) that I can keep going back to my wrist for sniff and it’s still there – my nose hasn’t got bored of it over several hours. It’s £68 HERE.
