Roadscents

[unpaid/samples] How I haven’t come across the Roadscents brand before I don’t know. I adored the Diptyque in car diffuser and miss it still but can quite honestly say that one of the little car danglers (technical term, ahem) will give you more for your money. They’re amazing! The candles, which are a recent diversification, are equally power packed in terms of fragrance  – but you’d be braver than me if you used it in your car! They’re obviously for home use.

Scents you can choose from are Godsmell (above) which actually is a tiny bit too strong for me – it’s patchouli, sandalwood and cedar and despite being inspired by the Hindu god Lord Ganesha (remover of obstacles), reminds me of expensive hotel lobbies. It’s that kind of welcoming calm that’s warming, enveloping and soothing. I’m thinking specifically of Hotel Costes in Paris which is velvety and opulent – full of secrets (and lies no doubt) but also full of promise.

The fragrance cards are £10 (in variants Godsmell, Downdog, Roserage and Wakeup) each HERE and for that you should have a full 4-6 weeks of scented bliss.

Roserage is a beautiful, clean rose scent slightly sweetened by jasmine – my preference for the car, definitely. It’s like coming home from the florist with a boot full of fragrant bouquets. Actually, if you find the fragrances too strong, you can just pierce the packaging and let it diffuse out more quietly. Roadscents is founded by Tina Gaudoin who also co-founded triyoga. With a CV that covers editorship of leading magazines such as Tatler and The Times Luxx, these are properly perfumed by expert noses in Grasse – i.e. done properly.

I feel that £35 for the candles is really not unreasonable, given that we can pay far more for much less in the way of last and throw. Roserage feels like the candle for right now – the garden feel is fitting for a lighter, summery mood and sets a calming stance for any driving you need to do. There is nothing at all to stop you being a rule breaker and using the cards as wardrobe hangers, linen cupboard enhancers, hanging from the window latch in the loo – it’s really whatever you want to do with them – the car is just one idea. I’m sitting in my office (ok, dining room) and I can smell Roserage wafting through from the testing point of my kitchen – it’s bliss. You can find everything HERE.
