M&S Festive Candles

[unpaid/affiliate] I’m aware that I’ve got some pricy candles coming up but I was in my local M&S on Saturday and got chatting with a lady by the candle display who was extolling the virtues of an M&S candle when another lady joined us asking what the gorgeous smell was. It turned out to be Mandarin, Clove & Cinnamon which was giving off beautifully wintery vibes in the most gorgeous jar and we three strangers had a lovely chat bathed in citrus spice notes.

I would give these house room any day of the week! I don’t hear much at all from the M&S press office (which is fine – I’m inundated as it is) but it does mean that bringing value for money products from them relies on me actually being in a store or buying their products to review and I’d rather buy more quirky things that can’t be found so readily (or, their gin!). However, that’s not always been the case and while these smelled delicious in store, I’m aware that the candles tend to be lighter on fragrance than more expensive options. In this case, I think that’s perfectly okay because a light hint of wintery festivities is far more preferable than a blast of Christmas on repeat from November onwards. These are £12.50 HERE which I think is an absolute snip as they’re just so beautiful.

If only I’d clocked that this was a light up candle – as in, the London cityscape allows light through so it looks properly cosy and flickering – I’d have snapped it up. There’s a Paris and New York cityscape as well and these are absolutely flying off the shelves so if you want one, do it now!

They’re £10 each HERE. I’m caving and ordering the Paris candle to collect in store while I still can! If these were £50 from Diptyque we’d still be beating a path to get one.

My inner magpie loves these trees – you light the top with a match which triggers an LED inside so you get a ‘pulsating’ light – I’m going to imagine more spa light than disco light with that but what a great gift or stocking filler at £12.50 HERE. The candle is designed to tunnel burn so you get as much of the tree for as long as possible without it turning into a heap of sad wax. See, they think of everything.

So sad we can’t get the city candles on-line! Sitting over here in the US and would love to get them.

I’ve found some great candles on an artisan market from a company called Fortheloveofearth their calming candle is great and they have just launched a candle called night before Christmas, made from soya wax and essential oils only, the candles are in jars and only cost six yes SIX pounds each and burn for around 40 hours
