We’re in the world of luxury home fragrancing here with the Wild Neroli & Water Jasmine Lilou et Loic Candle – the presentation is immaculate. But a candle starts at £50 and continues to rise to a heady £275! Yikes, that’s a lot to burn. Founded by former Swedish model Malin Wright and Icelandic lawyer, Aldis Firman, they describe the brand as British with a Scandinavian sensibility. I definitely get the Scandi aesthetic of the brand – it’s cool, calm and interior led and I have to tell you that after a bit of a slow start, the candle is bursting out fragrance.
I couldn’t pick water jasmine out of a police line-up, so it’s maybe just as well that the predominant note is the neroli that translates to a warm citrus. It’s just beautiful – so it should be though. I’m less fond of sticks in bottles because they just look fiddly so haven’t put that to the test yet, but the candle for weddings, special birthdays or total treat to self – yes.
