La Montana Candle Set

I’ve reviewed several La Montana candles over the past couple of years – it’s really such a lovely brand and I like the idea of paying time and attention to the smaller producers doing great things. Everyone is up against it this year, particularly newer brands that have the big guns who dominate the market to contend with.

The brand is inspired by Spain – all year round, not just the sunny days. From the vibrant herbs, dew dropped vegetation and sudden cloud bursts to mesmeric and heady florals and spiced oranges – it’s all in the sparkly box. One of the things I particularly like about this set is that there are two ‘seasonal’ candles (Three Kings and Winter Oranges) while the others are more tranquil and fresh. La Montana candles have good throw – I have previously burned and enjoyed Winter Oranges, Galan de Noche and Alfredo’s Cafe (maybe even Cloud Burst too!) and last nicely. The candles are 80g each which normally retail at £18 each – but the set is £75 instead of £126 HERE.

I love the way they’re sampling the fragrances – each card has a clear plastic circle on it that holds the candle fragrance – peel it away and you get a very accurate representation of how the candles smell. It’s £3 for the set (redeemable) and well worth getting if you want to sit and think about it a while. Buying candles on-line is so difficult and it’s also so hard to accurately describe fragrances, and if you are a candle aficionado it’s worth the extra effort of sampling this way.
