[unpaid/sample/ad/affiliate] On price alone, this will fall into the niche fragrance category (it’s £165), but if that’s your category you are in for a treat. It’s super-summery – full of smooth citrus and ginger.
The neon green bottle is a thing of beauty – it’s ornamental, in fact, and I can see it in white bathrooms everywhere taking a star turn on Instagram. The ginger adds a bit of spice and liveliness and honestly, I felt quite perky wearing it so it’s definitely a mood booster, too.
As well as being citrus and spicy it’s also quite green – I don’t have a reference point for angelica root (one of the notes) but I can certainly detect fig. In fact, the longer you wear it, the more notes reveal themselves. The description talks of a ‘bouquet of aromatics’ but to me it’s quite a simple fragrance – not complicated or taxing on the nose but just a happy-making smell that frames your day with good things.
JUS is a relatively new French brand, launching in 2018. Fragrance trends have moved away from mass market, high street notes of biscuits and vanilla (if that’s your thing, you aren’t alone – it’s mass for a reason and that’s because everyone loves it!), with more and more consumers looking for points of difference or perfume that speaks to them as individuals. It’s a brand that is certainly built to be noticed – neon is a theme across their 11 fragrances to date. The visuals play to a pop art theme but it’s clean and elegant rather than chaotic. The bottles are refillable with sustainable packaging – if you happen to be near Liberty and feel like popping in, it’s worth a spritz any day of the week but be warned that you probably won’t be able to leave it on the shelf. I’m so pleased to have discovered this brand although am bemused by the suggestion to spritz it behind my knees – at £165 I don’t think so ;-). It’s HERE, non affiliate is HERE.
