[productsample/affiliate] One of the best tips I ever got was to add a few drops of orange essential oil to a damp flannel to pop on your bedroom radiator overnight. When the heating kicks in first thing in the morning you it powers up the oil so you wake a citrus scented room. It’s a lovely way to wake up and a cheap and cheerful way to enjoy a feel-good fragrance. The first spritz of Jo Malone Orange Bitters gives me that same feeling of satisfaction although it dries down to something much more smokey and cologne-like.

Jo Malone Orange Bitters Cologne

This is a relative new-comer to Jo Malone but it’s starting to take its place in my heart in a similar way to Pine & Eucalyptus. It’s about evenings drawing in, a feel of cosy nurturing and warmth but with the brightness of optimism. I’d never wear it in summer – it would feel so out of place there (instead I’d opt for Dagian by Ruth Mastenbroek or Jo Malone Orange Blossom) but I’m very drawn to it at this time of year. If you do like the sound of it I’d suggest the candle option that you know you can burn to the last – you won’t want this kind of embracing, semi-festive scent when spring hits, I’m sure. It’s out as a limited edition cologne (30ml) for £48, as a travel candle (i.e. tiny) for £23 or the deluxe candle version for £120 HERE. Non affiliate HERE.
