I’m trying to compile a top ten Christmas candles post to put in my sidebar so it’s an at-a-glance review reference but I keep finding things that I can’t relegate to the side bar – they deserve a post of their own. A good case in point is the Jo Malone Miniature Candle Set which features a couple of fragrances that I can’t find in any of the other Jo Malone Christmas sets, bar one.
I’ll whizz through the fragrances: Frosted Cherry & Clove, Nectarine Blossom & Honey, Grapefruit, Pomegranate Noir and Sweet Almond & Macaroon. I honestly don’t think I’ve come across Frosted Cherry & Clove before although I know it was a limited edition from a few years ago, and it’s so lovely! Light, sweet and with a little kick of spice. Similarly, Sweet Almond & Macaroon I think was a scent from 2014 and you can still get it on the JM site, but I haven’t thought of it as a Christmassy scent before but it is marzipan-ish so I suppose it is very relevant.
The other three are familiar of course, but seem completely appropriate for this pick n mix of posh perfumed candles. I might also say that the packaging is exceptional. So, originally I was going to suggest this as a gift, but now that I’ve taken them upstairs to shoot in my bathroom, I’m just thinking about a bubbly bath surrounded by flickering miniature candles wafting clove and cherry and considering this is best gifted to self. They’re practically medicinal on a cold winter’s eve after a long day at work for a proper, soul reviving pamper.
