Jo Malone London Frangipani Flower Cologne

[productsample] To me, colour and fragrance are inextricably linked. Sometimes, I smell something and it makes me think of a colour and nine times out of ten I think yellow whenever there is a night-bloom note even though a lot of night blooms are put in dark bottles. Obviously, Jo Malone London think the same because they’ve bottled Frangipani Flower cologne in a tinted yellow bottle.

Frangipani is part of a forthcoming collection from Jo Malone London called the Blossoms Collection, and they’re all in colour tint bottles. Part of the concept is fragrance combining – I’m melting at the thought of the Orange Blossom Hair Mist alongside Frangipani. I mean, it doesn’t get much better than that. Colognes included in the Blossoms collection are Frangipani, Orange Blossom, Silk Blossom and Star Magnolia with variants including candles, hair mists, diffusers and colognes.

Frangipani itself has a bulbish undertone with sandalwood and lemon, but the bigger impression is a blend of frangipani, jasmine and ylang ylang. It’s the olfactory equivalent of an evening beach walk on bleached sand with night blooms just starting to open around you. My heart will always belong to Orange Blossom but this is coming a very, very near second. The collection is available from April and is limited although it would be nothing short of a perfume crime if Frangipani doesn’t make its way into the main collection. I might start a petition….

I will sign that petition in a heart-beat, I looooove Frangipani but so often perfumes containing it smell like old lady handbag!

Does this smell anything like the Molton Brown templetree products?

    I don’t have a store near me so can’t smell before I buy ☹️
