This fragrance is the biggest launch of the year for Jo Malone, hitting stores in September. On a surface glance, you’d be forgiven for thinking that it’s not exactly, er, out there, in terms of creativity. However, Davana is one of those rare plants that smells different on each wearer so even if you and your best friend are sitting next to each other wearing the identical fragrance, it could very well not smell at all the same. It’s quite a risky ingredient to use as there is no predictability to the outcome but it’s known to have an affinity with the natural scent of skin so if anything, you might get an amplification of that. I love skin-like scents for being raw but also very elegant – nobody can really put their finger on why you smell so lovely, just that you do.
Everyone knows Honeysuckle as a scent – that glorious, dusk bloom potency that’s rather heady and exciting in its natural state. I think Jo Malone has made their sexiest fragrance ever despite the fact that it looks so prim and proper. If you have a sensitive nose, you might detect some rose and moss in the mix, but otherwise it’s a fruity, fulsome and opulent… I completely love it. I can’t wait til it launches to know what you think of it too!
