Jo Malone Charity Home Candle 2018

Jo Malone Charity Home Candle 2018

This is such a worthwhile initiative from Jo Malone who support various mental health charities through the sale of these limited edition candles. The charities have a focus on gardens as places of learning, of peace and of recovery and you can read more about the individual gardens that the brand has supported HERE.

Jo Malone Charity Home Candle 2018

This year’s offering is White Lilac and Rhubarb – you can definitely smell the rhubarb coming from it with crisp and fresh  notes rather than sweet, but it’s distinctly there. The white lilac wraps the rhubarb without fighting it and I feel I can detect some earthy down-notes so it really does tick the ‘bringing the garden inside’ box. This is, I think, the third candle that supports mental health recovery – for both individuals and families – so it’s becoming a regular summer fixture from Jo Malone. Good to see and an easy way to make a donation as 75% (less VAT) of the retail price of £47 goes straight to the charities.

The White Lilac and Rhubarb candle launches in July, but previous charity candles in Peony & Moss and Iris & Lady Moore (in equally beautifully decorated glass holders) are available HERE.

I have just read the linked article about the gardens that the sale of this candle goes towards helping. This sounds like a very helpful way to provide support for mental health illnesses. Which through my own experience I know is very underfunded. Thank you for telling people about it because the more help there is the better.

  2. I’ll definitely look out for this next month. I’ve been looking for a lilac candle ever since Diptyque discontinued Lilas and 75% is a really worthwhile donation.
