Issey Miyake

Some things are worth a little bit of extra attention – Issey Miyake’s summer editions always find talent and creativity by finding artists who can reinterpret the L’Eau d’Issey fragrance in a meaningful way. I love that this year’s has taken two individual talents and blended their work together to create the best bottle for years.

So, if you look carefully at the typography, you’ll see it’s a very specific, elongated style. That’s the work of Tyrsa, a Gobelins School of Visual Communications graduate. The separate work of Alice Auboiron’s vegetation designs of tropical plants look like they’re growing through the letters which are made (especially obvious on the box) to look like windows. At this point, I’m barely caring what the fragrance smells like – it’s such a beautiful and original thing to do and so, so summery! If you’re a L’Eau d’Issey fan, you’ll already know that the fragrance is sparkling, tangy with grapefruit and lychee, mellowing down to aquatic floral and vanilla. It’s made in a non-photosensitizing formula so you should be able to wear it in the sun without reaction.

It’s £44 but I’ve found it for £37.40 HERE.
