Floris Neroli Voyage

[productsample] You know summer is on the horizon when the neroli fragrances start appearing. There’s little more refreshing or reviving than the bitter orange flower notes of a good, solid neroli perfume.

And… speaking of! Neroli notes are often softened by sweeter or more floral tones but in this creation, neroli is very much the lead with some distinct accents of lemon. The winning point is combining marine notes which make it very holiday-ish (I’m thinking more a yacht off Capri than an 18-30 in Magaluf). In fact, it’s inspired by a sailing trip through the Ligurian sea.

At first spritz, it’s rather cologne-like but given some time on the skin, Neroli Voyage becomes more peaceful and aromatic, allowing the fennel seed and ginger notes to warm through. It’s neither masculine nor feminine – anyone could wear this despite a dot of jasmine. To my knowledge, citrus-marine fragrances are few and far between – I can’t even think of another and it’s for anyone who likes a relatively uncomplicated and distinct fragrance to see them through the hot days of summer. It’s £120, launching in May – if you pass it, spritz and enjoy – if that’s not possible, order a sample (£3.50) from the Floris website HERE.

Oh thank you for the sample link! I’m batty about neroli, but this is beyond my means. It sounds really heavenly

(My favourite neroli of all, one which absolutely sends me, is Castille by Penhaligons. I’ve just found it at an astonishing bargain price online. Hurrah!)

I got so excited reading this, neroli is absolutely my favourite fragrance, and then I saw the price…oh 🙁 Maybe it’ll be a tiny bit cheaper at the airport when I go on my holiday in July, fingers crossed.
