Since I really, really didn’t like the last Elie Saab fragrance, Girl of Now, I didn’t hold out much hope for this one! Lebanese designer, Elie Saab has 27 fragrances under his belt and I have loved some of them, but the more recent perfumes seem to be going along the same lines with not much individuality. They’re sweet, cloying and heavy with a lot of musk and flowers clanging together. However, In White settles down beautifully from a very big beginning and once it has settled, it’s creamy and smooth. In White is a blend of mandarin, cassis, Sambac jasmine and orange blossom over white musks and patchouli that is overly powerful on the initial spritz (the whole kitchen was filled with it) but so pretty after time on the skin. If you bought this because you like a big, strong scent, you could easily think that’s what you’re getting but in fact, it trails into a rather gentle and tender scent that’s very wearable and very summery.
Also… I love the bottle. That’s a gorgeous thing to have on your dressing table.
